8-23-07

My brother with fish that's just scary!

My 2007 August Fish

August is our favorite month around here for HUGE Snook and nice size Tarpon. All these fish were caught on artificial lures. Doug and like to see who catches the most huge fish each season so I broke it up into our August fish groups.

Doug's 2007 August Fish

So far Doug has been the master Snook catcher this year!

Jason's 2007 August Fish

Jason just joined the game he's still learning but has had some nice catches so far! He did catch his biggest at 37" but we didn't have the camera that night...

8-11-07

My friend Chris hooked up on the 40-60lb Bull Shark. This was one of the toughest small sharks I have ever seen. He used the styrong current to his advantage and wrapped us on a few crab traps, luckily we were able to get him off and continue the tug-of-war. The fight lasted about and hour with Chris fighting him the first half and me on the second half.

KAYAK SNAKE HEAD FISHING RULES!

5-27-07

Great day for Snakeheads and Peacocks! We tried a few new spots and it really paid off! I managed my 3rd largest snake head at 7.1lbs and my largest Peacock at 3.13lbs Doug got a nice Snakehead at 6.2lbs and my buddy Jason got a huge Snakehead at 8.4lbs We managed a bunch more Snakes between 3-5 lbs and a few smaller Peacocks! Cant forget the endless Largemouth Bass.

5-14-07

One of the slowest Snakehead days yet... I did manage my second best fish at 8lbs. Caught 2 more smallies and lost another large one.

5-12-07

Another fun night with lots of Tarpon and a Gummer (Nurse Shark)

Snakeheads to Bull Sharks!

5-5-07

One of the best days fishing i have had! Doug, JR and I started Snakehead fishing at 2pm on Saturday. I ended up catching 2 of my biggest fish this day... My best Snakehead at 8.6lbs and Peacock Bass at 4 lbs (I don't get out for these that often but im going to start!) Doug also caught his best Snake head at 7.6 lbs. We caught a bunch more Snakes, Peacocks and Bass. We left freshwater at 8pm and drove home to fish a bridge for shark bait... we got done with bait around 11pm and dropped JR off. Then Doug and i set off to another bridge. I ended up catching a 30" Snook right away and then it was shark time. We hooked and lost a bunch of them and managed to land this 100lb Bull, thank god for the 2 guys (pictured with shark on the right) who helped us pull this shark up in the net. Remember this was off a 40' high bridge =) not easy stuff... This was another one of those times i thought for sure my nets life was ending, but it held with a big hole in the mesh from where the shark ate some of it lol. Ended up getting home at 6am on Sunday!

4-23-07

Ben Siegel and I with his 9 lb 4oz Cobra Snakehead (Bullseye) We caught about 5 others this day ranging from 1lb to 5lb

Peacock Bass and Snake Heads

4-22-07

What a crazy day! My friend Frankie took me to  a secret Peacock Bass spot and we caught 5 nice ones around 2lbs. Then he begged me to take him to catch Cobra Snakeheads and we nailed them! Caught a total of 9 fish over 3 lbs with the biggest ( caught by Frankie ,pictured on right) running 8.5 lbs and 33" we lost over 15 more...

Sebastian Inlet

Giant Redfish and a SWEET 130lb + Black tip shark!

10-27-06

Well this is my personal best fish (besides shark)... A GOLIATH GROUPER ( aka Jewfish) Even though he is a small one (they get up to 1000lbs, insane i know)  We estimated this guy at around 70- 90 lbs it took 3 guys to pull him up in a bridge net that i swear was going to break! When i said i was going to hold him up for a pic the other guys with me just laughed, well i now know they have something very sharp inside their gills and when they shake they will cut you up pretty bad (but it was worth it... can you see the strain in my face lol)  The best part is i caught him on 40lb mono off a bridge that is 30 - 40' high!!! I have been hearing rumors of these guys being hooked at this bridge a lot over the past month or so, and watched a guy lose one the night before... So all day i was telling Shannon, im going to catch one tonight (and i did!) The best part is Doug had this shark on and we were all getting ready to help him get it out of the water when this beast hit... So we had one of the more interesting double headers yet!!!

Hog Fish

This is probably the coolest catch i have had... these guys normally don't hit lines, most people spear them. Also when they do hit a line it usually has shrimp or lobster on the hook... Well this  guy took  a cut fish (which i was very happy with) but surprised us all. He weighed in at 7lbs and i will say they are as good as everyone says!

44" MORGAN SNOOK!

08-28-06

My personal best! 44" and so long and heavy i had a hard time holding her horizontal for a picture... can you see the strain =)

8-27-06

Jr nailed this 42" Snook and i got this 31" we caught a bunch more small ones!

Customer Fishing Trip!

Took Alice Cobb, Her Husband Johnny, Daughter Lindsey and Her fiancé Andrew. Andrew just wanted to catch some tarpon, I was getting a little worried 3 hours into the trip since there was nothing around, but the tide change was only half hour away. I asked if they were willing to stay and they were game, so as soon as the tide changed we started bailing small Snook and Tarpon. Had a ton of fun!

40 " Snook caught in Fort Myers

More EXTREME GATOR Fishing!

These bad boys were a LOT bigger! 5-6 footers (thats why theres no up close and personal pics lol)  We just shook the poppers loose when the got to shore...

I can never keep my eyes open when a flash is on lol!!!

SHARK FISHING!

Well we did some Sharkin the last 2 nights. Lost 4 Monday night and caught 1 last night got this little 40 lber. This one we will eat, 50lb and less Blacktips are some of the best eating fish in my opinion! 2 cops saw us and were hanging out  and had to get in on the photo-op. Hear is a shout out to officer Lee, looking good with a shark and a Badge (he should use that instead of those nasty stun guns!)

Doug (Father in law) was the one who reeled him in, took about 25 mins and another 20 to get him out of the water (i had that fun job)

Here's the pics, hope you enjoy

The fight on film!
