1. HRAs have a lot in common with the Black Pastels in appearance. Color is the big deference. HRAs have mostly normal coloring. The traits of the Het Red Axanthic (HRA) are... Squiggles (for lack of a better name) - are the black lines around the single dot inside the "Mojave Pattern" (yes they have the "Mojave Pattern" too). The squiggles are shown in RED, HRAs have varying degrees of squiggles but most have at least some. Another trait is flames (if you haven not noticed, most mutations have varying flames) shown with the PURPLE arrows. Most of them also have the break in the neck stripe similar to Granites shown in GREEN. The BLUE arrow shows the reddish brown blushing inside the Black Back.
2. Here is a close up of the squiggles shown in RED. Also the single black dot where the "alien heads" would be. shown with the GREEN arrows
3. Heres a HRA that would be a little tougher to pick out. This animal does have the squiggles (shown in RED) but a lot less of them. Once again you can see the flames in GREEN. Also take note of the break in the neck stripe (not circled)
4. This is a hatchling and shows a high amount of the reddish blushing (shown with the BLUE arrows). Take note of the squiggles shown in RED.
5. Here is a close up of the flames on a HRA in PURPLE.
6. The belly on a HRA looks pretty normal but is lighter
Variations and Examples Variation 1 - For some reason animals produced from Het Red Axanthis x Normal produce less aberrant animals and ones produced by Red Axanthic x Normal produce much more wildly patterned animals. The one on the left is from HRA x Normal and the one on the right from a Red Axanthic x Normal
Variation 2 - This is another tough one, but you can see all the traits. Squiggles in RED (few of them but they are there) Flames in PURPLE and the reddish blushing in BLUE. Also the break in the neck stripe is present (not circled)
Variation 3- Here are 3 different examples of HRAs. All showing varying degrees of the traits.
Example 1 - Another close-up of the single dot pattern and the squiggles
Example 2 - A side shot of a HRA
SUPER - Red Axanthic
There are more examples of Het Red Axanthics but they follow the same rules. 1. Squiggles around the single black dot ("Mojave Pattern") Hope this helps Jon Dvoretz |
